Why does atmospheric pressure depend on altitude?

Indeed, altitude affects atmospheric pressure. The point is that air also has its own weight, especially when it is saturated with oxygen, it presses on the earth’s surface. But if you go higher and higher, then this weight gradually decreases, the oxygen in the air becomes less and it presses much easier. Therefore, the pressure decreases with height. People with low blood pressure are highly discouraged from climbing to great heights precisely because of this reason.
