A population is considered a unit of evolution and a structural unit of a species; it is the smallest group of individuals that can evolve. It is characterized by the number of representatives, variability, the generality of the territories it occupies, as well as the sex and age composition. A change in the size of populations, a sharp decrease in it can lead to the death of the population.
