| Write down the expression for the perimeter of the triangle ABC and simplify it if AB = x cm, BC is 2 times more AB, and AC is 7 cm less than BC
The perimeter of a triangle is equal to the sum of all its sides.
In our problem, if AB = x cm, and BC is 2 times more than AB, then BC = 2x cm.
If AC is 7 cm less than BC, then AC = (2x – 7) cm.
Find the perimeter of this triangle:
P = x + 2x + 2x – 7.
Let’s simplify the equation:
P = (5x – 7) cm.
Answer: (5x – 7) cm.
