Based on the conditions of this example, create the following equation: Y + 1/5 = 7/10.
By the outcome of solving this equation, we obtain the value Y = 7/10 – 1/5 = (7 – 1 x 2) / 10 = (7 – 2) / 10 = 5/10 = 1/2 meter of wire.
Answer: 1/2 meter of wire is left.
