400 grams of NaOH2 reacts with HNO3. What is the mass of the salt.
February 10, 2021 | education
| In a chemical reaction
NaOH + HNO3 = NaNO3 + H2O
for every mole of alkali that reacts, the same amount of salt is formed
Let’s calculate the amount of substance in the reaction:
400/40 (molar mass NaOH) = 10 mol
We find the mass of salt in grams:
10 mol * 85 (molar mass of NaNO3) = 850 grams
