| 4,000 cm3 of water was poured into a glass cube, filling it halfway. The part was immersed in water, as a result of which the water level in the cube rose by 2 cm. What is the volume of the part?
Find the full volume of a glass cube, knowing its half:
4000 * 2 = 8000 cm³.
Let’s calculate what the edge of the cube is equal to:
V = a³;
a³ = 8000;
a = 20 cm.
The volume of the part is equal to the volume of a parallelepiped with measurements a = 20 cm, b = 20 cm, c = 2 cm.
V1 = a * b * c = 20 * 20 * 2 = 800 cm³.
Answer: the volume of the part, which was lowered into a cube of water, is 800 cm³.
