2) Calculate the mass fraction of salt in the resulting solution.
To do this, apply the formula: mass fraction of solute = mass of solute: mass of solution * 100%.
Let’s substitute into this formula the values from the condition of the problem: mass fraction of salt in solution = 5: 50 * 100% = 10%.
Answer: you get a 10% aqueous solution of salt.
