What types of plastids are found in plant cells?

| Plastids are the organelles of plant cells that give them color. Plastids are of three types:
1) chloroplasts – are green in color, as they contain the pigment chlorophyll; the main function of chloroplasts is photosynthesis;
2) chromoplasts – contain red, yellow, brown pigments; color petals, fruits and seeds; are formed in leaves in autumn;
3) leukoplasts – colorless, found in uncolored parts of plants; serve as a place of accumulation of starch and other carbohydrates.
