What is common in the views of Westerners and Slavophiles, what are their differences?

Both Westerners and Slavophiles spoke of the need for progressive reforms, such as the abolition of serfdom, the development of industry, and the limitation of the tsar’s power. However, at the same time, the Westerners believed that the Russian Empire was lagging behind the European countries and spoke of the need to eliminate this lag. The Slavophiles argued that Russia has its own special path of development, and spiritually it is much higher than the West. In different ways, these movements were related to significant figures such as Peter I.
