| Write down the molecular, full and abbreviated ionic equations of the chemical reaction between potassium hydroxide and iron (III) chloride.
Potassium hydroxide – KOH; Iron chloride (|||) – FeCl3.
3KOH + FeCl3 = 3KCl + Fe (OH) 3 (sediment)
3K + + 3OH- + Fe3 + + 3Cl- = 3K + + 3Cl- + Fe (OH) 3 (iron hydroxide does not sign for ions because it is not an electrolyte).
Fe3 + + 3OH- = Fe (OH) 3
This reaction is an exchange reaction and takes place only under the condition of precipitation or gas evolution.
