5x ^ 2 – 4x – 4 = 8;
We solve the resulting quadratic equation:
5x ^ 2 – 4x – 4 – 8 = 0;
5x ^ 2 – 4x – 12 = 0;
Let us first of all calculate the discriminant of the equation:
