What did Luther do in response to the Pope’s excommunication?

After Luther was excommunicated from the Catholic Church, and he was given a papal decree (called a bull). But he passed the decree to the fire, thereby making it clear that the papal authority did not mean anything to him. And then he began to call on the German people and, first of all, the nobility to unite and renew the church, to leave the papal power. Despite the persecution after that, he did not cease to engage in active propaganda, translated the Bible into German and acquired many disciples and associates, giving rise to Lutheranism.
