Give three equations of chemical reactions that characterize the chemical properties of acids.
Give three equations of chemical reactions that characterize the chemical properties of acids. Note what type of reaction they are.
1) Reaction of neutralization. The acid reacts with alkali to form salt and water.
H2SO4 + 2NaOH = Na2SO4 + 2H2O (exchange reaction);
H2S + 2NaOH = Na2S + 2H2O (exchange reaction);
2H3PO4 + 3Ca (OH) 2 = Ca3 (PO4) 2 + 6H2O (exchange reaction).
2) Interaction of acids with basic oxides. As a result of the reaction, as well as with bases, we obtain salt and water.
H2SO4 + CaO = CaSO4 + H2O (exchange reaction);
2HCl + MgO = MgCl2 + H2O (exchange reaction);
2HNO3 + K2O = 2KNO3 + H2O (exchange reaction).
3) Acids interact with metals according to the metal stress series.
2HCl + Mg = MgCl2 + H2 (substitution reaction);
2HCl + Fe = FeCl2 + H2 (substitution reaction);
H2SO4 + Zn = ZnSO4 + H2 (substitution reaction).
