There are 20 items in a batch, of which 6 have defects. The batch is arbitrarily divided into 2 equal parts, which are sent to 2 consumers. Find the likelihood that the defective products will go to both consumers equally.
A big event consists of two small independent ones, here is its formula:
P (C) = P (A) * P (B)
A big event – defective products will go to both consumers equally. Because we have 6 defective, then this is 3 for each (6 we divide by 2)
Substitute in the formula and get:
P (S) = the first received 3 defectives. and 2 got 3 marriage.
And- multiplication
We get:
P (C) = P (1) * (P2)
To find a small event:
P (A) = favorable outcomes (m) / number of total outcomes (n)
There are 10 outcomes in total, because a total of 20 plates and they were divided in half.
P (1) = 3/10 = 0.3 (3 because 3 marriage., These are favorable for us)
P (2) = 3/10 = 0.3 similarly
Now we substitute in our formula:
P (C) = 03 * 0.3 = 0.09
