| One side of the triangle is 5 times smaller from the other and 28 inches less from the thirds. Find the sides of a triangle if its perimeter is 84dm.
Let’s denote the first side as x dm. Therefore, the second side of the triangle will be equal to (5 * x) dm, and the third side, respectively, (x + 28) dm. Therefore, we can draw up the following equation, since we know the perimeter of the triangle:
x + x * 5 + x + 28 = 84,
7 * x = 56,
From here we find x = 56: 7 = 8 dm – the length of the first side.
8 * 5 = 40 dm – the length of the second side,
8 + 28 = 36 dm – the length of the third side.
Answer: side lengths are 8 inches, 40 inches and 36 inches.
