1. Let’s write down the equation of the proceeding chemical reaction.
CuSO4 + 2NaOH = Cu (OH) 2 + Na2SO4.
2. Find the amount of the formed copper (II) hydroxide.
n (Cu (OH) 2) = m (Cu (OH) 2) / M (Cu (OH) 2) = 9.8 g / 98 g / mol = 0.1 mol.
3. Based on the composed reaction equation, we find the mass fraction of copper (II) sulfate in solution.
n (CuSO4) = n (Cu (OH) 2) = 0.1 mol.
m (CuSO4) = n (CuSO4) * M (CuSO4) = 0.1 mol * 160 g / mol = 16 g.
