Power source of the Ganges river.

| The sources of the Ganges are located in the Himalayas, where there are huge glaciers. It is they who give the first streams, which make up about 1/6 of the total final river supply. Most of the tributaries of the Ganges also originate in the mountains at a fairly high altitude. At the same time, the Himalayas are an excellent barrier for clouds and cyclones. Therefore, a large amount of precipitation falls in the foothills. They are the main source of food for the extremely full-flowing river. And that is why streams, rivulets and rivers flow down from the mountains in large numbers.
