A ball weighing 400 g rolls without slipping at a speed of 0.2 m / s. Determine the kinetic energy of the ball.

Let’s substitute the given value into the formula for kinetic energy:

E kinet = mv² / 2, where E kinet is the kinetic energy of a moving body (unit of measurement – J), m is the mass of the body (unit of measurement – kg), v – speed of movement of the body (unit of measurement – m / s).

We get – E kinet = 0.4 kg * (0.2 m / s) ² / 2 = 0.008 J. This is the value of the kinetic energy of the ball under the conditions of our example.
