A body of mass m rests on a horizontal support fixed relative to the Earth. Are the moduli of gravity and support reaction equal?
A body of mass m rests on a horizontal support fixed relative to the Earth. Are the moduli of gravity and support reaction equal? And what about the models of body weight and support reaction forces?
Newton’s 3 Law says
F1 = F2
That is, action = reaction
Ras it is motionless, it means that no force other than the force of gravity and the reaction of the support acts. If the force of the support was greater, the load of mass m would take off, since it was greater than the force of gravity. And if the force of gravity is greater than the reaction of the support, the load of mass m fell through the ground. the body is in a state of rest when no forces act on it or the actions of forces are compensated.
The body weight will be equal to the reaction force of the support
P = mg
N = mg
P = N
