If a circle can be inscribed in a quadrilateral, then the sum of the opposite sides of the quadrilateral will be equal.
That is, AB + CD = BC + AD.

8 + 31 = 7 + AD.
7 + AD = 39.
AD = 39 – 7.
AD = 32 (cm).
