A circle is inscribed in the triangle ABC, the sides of which are 25 cm, 26 cm and 3 cm. Find the radius of the inscribed circle.

Let us find out how many centimeters the half-perimeter of this triangle will be expressed, when from the condition it is known that its sides are equal to 25, 26 and 3 centimeters, respectively:

(25 + 3 + 26): 2 = 27.

Let’s find out how many square centimeters its area will be expressed in this case:

√ (27 (27 – 25) (27 – 26) (27 – 3)) = √ (27 * 2 * 1 * 24) = √1296 = 36.

As we know from the school curriculum, the radius of such a circle can be calculated through the ratio of the area to the semi-perimeter, we find it:

36: 27 = 4/3 = 1 1/3.

Answer: 1 1/3.
