In 486, in the Soissons area, a confrontation began between the Frankish king Clovis I, who wanted to annex the Soissons area, which was under the rule of the Romans, to the Frasnian lands, and the Roman general Siagrius. Frankish troops under the leadership of Clovis invaded the possessions of the Romans and reached Soissons, where a bloody battle took place. The Franks won the battle, the Roman army was destroyed.
