| A concrete slab with a volume of 2.5m ^ 3 ^ has a mass of 4.75 tons. What is the volume of a slab of the same concrete if its mass is 6.65?
The easiest way to solve this problem is by applying the method of proportions. If a concrete slab weighing 4.75 tons has a volume of 2.5 m³, then we will find what volume a slab of the same concrete weighing 6.65 tons will have:
4.75 t – 2.5 m³;
6.65 t – X m ³.
Where from:
X = 6.65 x 2.5 / 4.75;
X = 3.5 (m³).
Answer: a concrete slab weighing 6.65 tons will have a volume of 3.5 m³.
