During the events of 146, the Roman Achaean Union (a military-political union of ancient Greek cities) declared war on Sparta and suspended all claims regarding debts granted to Greece. This meant open warfare.
During the Battle of the Isthmus of Corinth and the Battle of Leukopetra, the rich city of Corinth was destroyed and burned. Luxury goods were taken to Italy, and the inhabitants were sold into slavery. Greece becomes the province of Achaia, the former developed Carthaginian state is gradually disappearing.
