1. AB: BC = 5: 7. Therefore, BC = 7AB / 5.
2.Considering that the sides of the parallelogram opposite each other are equal, its perimeter (P) is calculated by the formula:
P = 2 (AB + BC) = 120 units.
AB + BC = 60 units.
3. We substitute 7АВ / 5 instead of ВС in this expression:
AB + 7AB / 5 = 60 units.
12AB = 300 units.
AB = 25 units of measure.
ВС = 7АВ / 5 = 35 units.
Answer: AB = 25 units of measure – the smaller side of the parallelogram.
