A pedestrian with a speed of 5 km / h and a cyclist left at a speed of 12 km / h at the same time left the two cities towards each other. After 3 hours, the distance between them was 18 km. Find the distance between cities.
1. We calculate how many kilometers the traveler will move away from the city, being on the way for 3 hours:
s x 5 = 15 kilometers.
2. We calculate how many kilometers the cyclist will move away from the city, being on the way for 3 hours:
12 x 3 = 36 kilometers.
3. We calculate the distance between cities:
15 + 36 +18 = 69 kilometers.
Answer: 69 kilometers between cities.
