A place where every four years the departure competition in Greece was held.

It was Olympia. Here, at the very beginning, large sports competitions were held – the Olympic Games. The earliest such games were held in 776 BC. These competitions were held in honor of the god Zeus, as well as his son, Hercules, who was the founder of these games. Only the Greeks themselves (not slaves) and only men could take part in the games, since women were not allowed to such an occupation.
