A rectangle and a parallelogram have the same sides 3 and 4 cm. Find an acute angle of a parallelogram if its area is half the area of the rectangle .
1. Vertices of the parallelogram – А, В, С, D. ВН – height. (drawn to the AD side). S – area.
AB and AD are equal to 3 cm and 4 cm, respectively.
2. S rectangle = 3 x 4 = 12 centimeters².
3. S parallelogram = 12: 2 = 6 centimeters².
4. S parallelogram = HELL x HV.
BH = 6: 4 = 1.5 centimeters.
5. The VL leg is half the size of the hypotenuse AB (3: 1.5 = 2). Therefore, according to the properties
a right-angled triangle, ∠A = 30 °.
Answer: acute ∠A = 30 °.
