A red-flowered (A) plant, homozygous for both traits, narrow-leaved narrow-leaved dominant gene (C)

A red-flowered (A) plant, homozygous for both traits, narrow-leaved narrow-leaved dominant gene (C) crossed with a white-flowered (a) broad-leaved (c) plant. The genes for these traits are localized on the same chromosome, linked to each other and inherited together. Determine what are the genotypes and phonotypes of F1 and F2. Explain the results cytologically

Livkoe with red flowers and narrow leaves has the homozygous AACC genotype. This plant is capable of producing only one type of germ cells – AС.

Livkoe with white flowers and wide leaves has the aass genotype and produces the same type of ac sex cells.

When plants are crossed among themselves, the offspring will be represented by plants with the AaCc genotype. These plants will have red flowers and narrow leaves. They will be able to produce two types of germ cells – AC and AC.

When crossing hybrids with each other, the offspring will be obtained, represented by the following possible options:

homozygous livestock with narrow leaves and red flowers (AACC) – 25%;

heterozygous lively with narrow leaves and red flowers (AaCc) – 50%;

homozygous livestock with wide leaves and white flowers (aaсс) – 25%.

The resulting splitting is due to the finding of genes in one chromosome, which determines the nature of the inheritance of the considered traits.
