The sum of the perimeters of two triangles into which the bisector splits this triangle is equal to the perimeter of this triangle in the sum with twice the length of the bisector. That is, if x is the length of the bisector, then
30 + 2x = 16 + 24, whence
2x = 10,
x = 5.
