By condition, we have: ABC – isosceles triangle, AC – base, BD – height.
Let us prove that AD = DC. Since we are given an isosceles triangle, its sides will be equal. There is such a property: the height of an isosceles triangle is both its height and bisector, which means that the height divides the angle B into two equal angles. Then we get two equal triangles (ABD = BDC on both sides and the angle between them). Hence, AD = DC as appropriate. Q.E.D.
