ABCD – parallelogram, COB perimeter = 30 cm, COD perimeter – 24 cm, BD = 14 cm, AC = 18 cm.Find the perimeter of ABCD.
The diagonals of the parallelogram are divided in half at the point of intersection, then AO = CO = AC / 2 = 18/2 = 9 cm, ВO = DO = ВD / 2 = 14/2 = 7 cm.
The perimeter of the triangle СOD = CO + DO + СD = 24 cm, then:
СD = 24 – CO – DO = 24 – 9 – 7 = 8 cm.
The perimeter of the triangle ВOС = ВO + CO + BC = 30 cm, then:
BC = 30 – ВO – CO = 30 – 7 – 9 = 14 cm.
Determine the perimeter of the parallelogram.
Ravsd = 2 * (СD + ВС) = 2 * (8 + 14) = 44 cm2.
Answer: The area of the parallelogram is 44 cm2.
