Adaptation of animals to life in the steppe

The wide prairies of the steppe are the kingdom of large herbivores that often migrate far in search of new pastures. Due to the lack of shelter and the need for migration, many herbivores from the steppe have grown to enormous sizes, are exceptionally adapted for running, and have a very thrill. Typical herbivorous plants are: European and North American bison, horse, native to the Asian steppes, guanacos living in the Argentine steppes, and others. Along with the guanaco, the Pampas deer, a small cervica about the same size as the roe deer, also lives in the South American steppes.
