Advantages and disadvantages of small and large seeds.

Large and small seeds have both advantages and disadvantages. There are always fewer large seeds than small ones. Larger seeds contain more nutrients and are more likely to survive and germinate under adverse conditions. The sprout of a large seed is larger than that of a small one. Small seeds are easily carried by insects or wind and spread. Large seeds are visible to animals and birds that may eat them. Small seeds remain viable longer, while large ones deteriorate faster.
