Air breathing organ leaf?

Plant leaves have many functions. The main function is to provide the plant with organic substances. They are formed during the course of the process of photosynthesis. In order for this process to proceed, the presence of some inorganic substances is necessary. This is water and carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide enters chloroplasts through diffusion through leaves. Also, oxygen is released through the leaves (a by-product of the reaction). In the dark, the leaves absorb oxygen and release carbon dioxide. Therefore, the leaves can be called the respiratory organs of the plant.
