An alloy of copper with nickel weighing 80 g (the mass fraction of copper in the alloy is 26.25%) was placed in a solution

An alloy of copper with nickel weighing 80 g (the mass fraction of copper in the alloy is 26.25%) was placed in a solution of hydrochloric acid. Calculate the volume of hydrogen that is evolved.

Given: m (spl) = 80 gr
To find; V (H) -?
Decision;
Alloy of copper with nickel and hydrochloric acid reacts as copper is after hydrogen in the row of activity. Based on this, the following reaction equation is obtained:
Ni + 2HCl = NiCl2 + 2H
Since by condition it is known that the mass fraction goes in fame is equal to 26.25%, you can find the mass fraction of nickel in this alloy by subtracting 100% from 26.25, we get:
100-26.25 = 73.75% – mass fraction of nickel in the alloy.
Having found the mass fraction of nickel, you can find the usual mass in this alloy as follows;
80 grams of alloy * 73.75% / 100% and we get 59 grams of nickel in this alloy.
Since the molar mass of nickel (according to the table) is also 59 grams, it can be concluded that 59 grams of nickel displaces 22.4. This means that 22.4 liters of hydrogen will be released.
Answer: 22.4 liters
