Are there other planets in the solar system besides Earth that have a magnetic field? Give examples.

The magnetic field, or geomagnetic field, is generated from the planet’s intraterrestrial sources. Let’s see if other planets have magnetic fields.

1. Earth. The Earth’s magnetic field, due to the molten mantle and the metal core, protects us from the destructive cosmic radiation of solar radiation. Let’s take the Earth’s magnetic field for comparison with other planets.

2. Mercury. Its magnetic field is only 0.006 hundredths of that of the earth. This is due to the practically frozen inner core of the planet.

3. Venus and Mars do not have a planetary magnetic field as such. This happened due to the fact that the nuclei in these planets froze. The planets have only tiny remnants of magnetic fields at their poles.

4 Jupiter The magnetic field is 10 times greater at the equator and 20 times greater at the poles than on Earth.

5. Saturn and Uranus. These planets have a magnetic field about 1.5 times less than on our planet.

6. Neptune. The magnetic field of this planet is approximately equal to our earthly one.
