Australia has a rather remote location in relation to other continents. This continent has been in such an isolated state for several tens of millions of years. In relation to Antarctica, Australia is located to the north. In relation to Eurasia, it has a southeastern position. In relation to South America, it has a western position, and in relation to North America – southwestern. In relation to Africa, Australia has an eastern and southeastern position. The closest continent to this is Antarctica.
