The mitochondrion is formed by two membranes, the outer one is smooth, the inner one forms outgrowths inside the solution, which contains ribosomes, DNA, libids.
The mitochondrion has three functions:
• Protein synthesis
• Synthesis of ATP
• The oxygen stage of energy metabolism takes place in the mitochondria
