| Let’s write down the equation of interaction of sulfuric acid with aluminum oxide and arrange the coefficients.
Al2O3 + 3H2SO4 = Al2 (SO4) 3 + 3H2O
Knowing the mass of aluminum oxide, we calculate the number of moles.
n (Al2O3) = m / M = 51/102 = 0.5 mol.
According to the reaction equation, it can be seen that 3 mol of sulfuric acid interacts with 1 mol of Al2O3. Accordingly, 0.5 * 3 = 1.5 mol of sulfuric acid will react with 0.5 mol of Al2O3.
Let’s calculate the mass of sulfuric acid, which will react with 51 g of aluminum oxide.
m (H2SO4) = n * M = 1.5 * 98 = 147 g.
