Calculate the amount of the substance and the mass of the salt obtained by passing the carbon dioxide

Calculate the amount of the substance and the mass of the salt obtained by passing the carbon dioxide with the amount of the substance 0.2 mol through the excess of calcium hydroxide in the solution.

The reaction of interaction of carbon dioxide with calcium hydroxide is described by the following chemical reaction equation:

Ca (OH) 2 + CO2 = CaCO3 + H2O;

0.2 mol of calcium hydroxide is converted to 0.2 mol of insoluble calcium carbonate.

Determine the molar mass of calcium carbonate:

M CaCO3 = 40 + 12 + 16 x 3 = 100 grams / mol;

Find the mass of 0.2 mol of calcium carbonate:

m CaCO3 = 0.2 x 100 = 20 grams;
