# Calculate the area of a circle whose radius is 14 dm, 3.6 m.

| Let’s write down the formula by which the area of the circle is calculated:

S = пr ^ 2, where

n – constant, which is taken equal to 3.14;

r is the radius of the circle (known by the specification).

1. Substituting numerical values into the above formula, we find the area of a circle for the first option, the radius is 14 dm:

S = 3.14 * 14 ^ 2 = 3.14 * 196 = 615.44 (dm2).

2. Substituting numerical values into the formula, we find the area of a circle for the second option, the radius is 3.6 m:

S = 3.14 * 3.62 = 3.14 * 12.96 = 40.6944 (dm2).
