The area of a rectangle is calculated by multiplying one side by the other is denoted by the letter (S) and the formula itself has the form S = a * b, where (a) and (b) are the sides of the rectangle:
for example a = 5 cm, b = 3 cm,
S = a * b
S = 5 * 3 = 15 cm ^ 2
Second way:
S = b * a
S = 3 * 5 = 15 cm ^ 2
