Calculate the area of an isosceles trapezoid, the perimeter of which is 32 cm, the length of the lateral side is 5 cm, and its height is 4 cm.
Since, by condition, the trapezoid is isosceles, then AB = СD = 5 cm.
The perimeter of the trapezoid is: P = (BC + AD) + AB + CD = 32 cm.
(BC + AD) = 32 – AB – CD = 32 – 5 – 5 = 22 cm.
The area of the trapezoid is:
Savsd = (DC + AD) * CH / 2 = 22 * 4/2 = 44 cm2.
Answer: The area of the trapezoid is 44 cm2.
