1. Let’s compose the equation of the chemical reaction:
2Al + 6HCl = 2AlCl3 + 3H2.
2. Find the chemical amount of reacted aluminum:
n (Al) = m (Al) / M (Al) = 81 g / 27 g / mol = 3 mol.
3. According to the reaction equation, we find the theoretical chemical amount of aluminum chloride, and at the end its mass:
ntheor (AlCl3) = n (Al) = 3 mol.
nprak (AlCl3) = ntheor (AlCl3) * η (AlCl3) / 100% = 3 mol * 80% / 100% = 2.4 mol.
m (AlCl3) = nprak (AlCl3) * M (AlCl3) = 2.4 mol * 133.5 g / mol = 320.4 g.
Answer: m (AlCl3) = 320.4 g.
