| Calculate the mass of an alkali solution with a mass fraction of sodium hydroxide of 15%, which must be taken for the reaction with aminoacetic acid with a chemical amount of 0.4 mol.
1. Let’s compose the equation of the proceeding reaction:
CH2 (NH2) COOH + NaOH → CH2 (NH2) COONa + H2O;
2.determine the chemical amount of sodium hydroxide:
n (NaOH) = n (CH2 (NH2) COOH) = 0.4 mol;
3.Calculate the mass of the reacted hydroxide:
m (NaOH) = n (NaOH) * M (NaOH);
M (NaOH) = 23 + 16 + 1 = 40 g / mol;
m (NaOH) = 0.4 * 40 = 16 g;
4.calculate the mass of the alkali solution:
m (NaOH solution) = m (NaOH): w (NaOH) = 16: 0.15 = 106.67 g.
Answer: 106.67 g.
