To do this, multiply the weight of the solution by the mass fraction of the dissolved salt.

M salt = 500 x 0.25 = 125 grams;

In a similar way, we calculate the weight of the solvent.

M solvent = 500 x 0.75 = 375 grams;

Checking: M salt + M solvent = M solution = 125 + 375 = 500 grams;
