Calculate the perimeter and area of a rectangle with sides of 6 cm and 8 cm.

First of all, you need to remember the formulas with which you can calculate the perimeter and area of a rectangle:
P = 2 * (a + b),
S = a * b,
where P is the perimeter of the rectangle,
S – area of a rectangle,
a, b – respectively the length and width of the rectangle.
In accordance with the condition of the problem a = 8 cm, b = 6 cm.Consequently, the perimeter and area will be:
P = 2 * (a + b) = 2 * (8 + 6) = 2 * 14 = 28 (cm).
S = a * b = 8 * 6 = 48 (cm 2).
Answer: the perimeter is 28 cm, the area is 48 cm 2.
