| 1. Let’s find the mass of hydrochloric acid in solution, according to the formula:
m (HCl) = m (solution) * w (solution) / 100% = 146 g * 20% / 100% = 29.2 g
2. Let’s compose the equation of interaction of hydrochloric acid with magnesium:
Mg + 2 HCl = MgCl2 + H2
According to the equation:
consumed 2 mol of HCl;
gas H2 formed in the amount of 1 mol of substance, i.e. 22.4 l.
Let’s find the mass of HCl by the formula:
m (HCl) = n * M = 2 mol * (1 + 35.5) = 73 g
3. Let’s calculate the volume of H2, making the proportion:
29.2 g HCl – xl H2
73 g HCl – 22.4 L H2
Hence, x = 29.2 * 22.4 / 73 = 8.96 liters.
