| The combustion reaction of sulfur is described by the following chemical reaction equation:
S + O2 = SO2;
From one mole of sulfur, one mole of its oxide is formed.
Find the amount of moles of sulfur that reacts.
The molar mass of sulfur is 32 grams / mol.
5.6 x 0.9 = 5.04 grams enters the reaction;
The amount of substance will be:
N S = 5.04 / 32 = 0.1575 mol;
The same amount of moles of sulfur oxide will be obtained.
Under normal conditions, one mole of ideal gas takes up a volume of 22.4 liters.
Let’s determine the volume of gas:
